What We Do...
Any woman in her childbearing years is a candidate for crisis pregnancy. The most common age span is from 15 to 25. Most of the women are single, but many married women come to the center facing an untimely pregnancy. Each one is unique, having individual needs. Regardless, any woman concerned that she may be pregnant will be seeking a pregnancy test. Many women go to local abortion clinics for a test not realizing that there is a vested interest in her pregnancy. If she is pregnant, she may be "counseled" to have an abortion with misinformation and without alternatives.
Our primary goal with each woman is to educate her about abortion, fetal development, and to provide her with alternatives. The following steps explain how we proceed:
- A client advocate greets the woman and gathers information about her and her possible pregnancy.
- A free pregnancy test is completed.
- While she waits on her results, a video is shown on pregnancy, fetal development, pregnancy termination and her alternatives.
- Afterwards, the client advocate enters into discussion regarding the outcome of the pregnancy test, alternatives and her individual needs and concerns.
- The woman then decides on her options and her client advocate provides the appropriate follow-up.
